The Calling

It all began when I was little. A simple dream, a seed that was planted until it came into full completion. It was not a smooth journey, over the years, the seed was forgotten in exchange of other pursuits in life. But alas, the seed chose to plant its roots and grow until it awakened the yearning to pursue law. When I became a Christian, mere months before the bar exam, I was asking myself if this is the right path because there seems to be a conflict between being a Christian and a lawyer.

As I was reading the Scriptures one night, I felt blessed for the following verses:
"The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to release the oppressed, to proclaim the year of the Lord's favor." ~Luke 4:18-19
"Open your mouth for the mute, for the rights of all who are destitute. Open your mouth, judge righteously, defend the rights of the poor and needy." ~Proverbs 31:8-9
A good Christian can definitely become a good lawyer. With God, nothing is impossible. :)
